Wooden Christmas tree - DIY project

We've made a Christmas tree at the weekend after getting a beautiful tree stump from the mountains. Check out the results. Oh yes and my darling daughter Rosie and I made the star for the top too

Recycle scarecrow

Look what we've been making out of things in our recycle bin. She's called rubbish girl and she's a scarecrow for our veggie patch.

Tried my hand at making some dreamcatchers when my neighbour was throwing out some bendy sticks. Check out the results.....

Menai Art Show

It's Menai Art Show again and this year I've entered two original, kookaburra kev and Gigi galah. It's part of the southern cross art group in conjunction with the Sutherland hospital and runs from 14th - 20th October. All artworks are for sale and there is a raffle to win an artwork. Funds from commission and raffle go to the hospital. If you arep in the area check it out, there is also someone doing a demo each day.

Foxy locksy

Well my foxy locksy 8x10 print is nearly out of edition so I had to do a brother. Seen as he was is so popular and reached the front page of etsy and was is so many etsy treasuries. I may bring him out in a 5x7 print and he is still available in mini and large canvas. He's his brother mister fox.....

Makers market

It's Sydney etsy teams makers market tomorrow 7th September at the roundhouse in Sydney uni from 10am-5pm. Hiccup art will be there and hope you can make it too.

Decoupage patchwork drawers

I've been buying second hand drawers for Rosie's room. 

The stages are:

Light sand

Coat of undercoat / primer

Two coats of matt wall paint

Scan and print fabric samples and doilies onto matt photo rag paper a4 in size

Cut and glue paper onto drawers with ova glue

Finish with two coats of satin water based varnish

Kookaburra Cardigan Kev

I've been wanting to paint a kookaburra for some time now. Starting off by thinking a name for him sparks off some past memories. I used to work in local government back home and we had a guy in the office we use to call cardigan kev, because he always wore cardigans. So that's where cardigan kev the kookaburra came from, hope you like him.
